Purpose

The mini poultry project is designed to provide the opportunity for mentorship and learning about poultry as show animals.

Guidelines

This project is for youth who are currently in Kindergarten, First or Second grade as of January 1st of the current year. Workshops will be held to help all mini poultry members and their families to learn about the mini poultry project and all are encouraged to attend.

All Mini 4-Hers will need to complete Fair Entry during the designated times as stated by the Extension Office(No late entries will be permitted). When completing Fair Entry, the mini poultry 4-Her will need to select Mini 4-H rabbits and provide the requested information.

Exhibitors in the Mini 4-H Poultry project may exhibit 1 animal that will be provided by the Sr. 4-H Poultry members that the mini 4-Her has as their mentor(Please note: Mini 4-H poultry members will not be able to bring their own animals to the fair).

Mini 4-H poultry members will be assigned to a Sr 4-H poultry Member.

Animals will be at the fair for the entire length of the fair and the mini 4-H poultry members will be encouraged to interact with their mentors and help with the

animal that is assigned to them at the fair.

Judging: Noon on the day of Poultry Judging

Mini 4-Hers should arrive 10 minutes before judging to check in with their Mentors.

Mentors and their Mini 4Hers will talk to the judge and show the poultry together.
