County Awards
How Awards and Trips are selected
The Tippecanoe County Extension Office will reach out over the summer with different award opportunities that 4-Hers can apply for. These award opportunities are listed below. If a 4-Her meets the award criteria and would like to be considered for the award, the 4-Her will need to bring a copy of their Record of Achievement to the Extension Office. The Awards Committee will review all of the Records of Achievement and choose winners. Once the winners are selected, the Records of Achievements will not be returned to the 4-Her and they will be discarded. Award winners will be notified by the Extension Office and invited to the Award Ceremony during the Tippecanoe County Fair.

BEA ROBERTSON MEMORIAL AWARD
Presented to three outstanding 4H Home Economics project members. Given in memory of Miss Bea Robertson a former Home Demonstration Agent and 4H Girls’ Youth Agent in Tippecanoe County. Selected based on “My Record of 4H Achievement” cards. May be received only once.
DAVIS MEMORIAL AWARD
This award is given by the Davis Family in memory of Mr. & Mrs. James P. Davis. Presented to one of the current six Senior Division Fashion Revue winners with the most outstanding clothing achievement in Fashion Revue as selected based on “My Records of 4-H Achievement” cards. This award may only be won one time.
FRED REICHART AGRICULTURAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
This award was funded by Cargill, Inc. to recognize employee volunteerism in the local community. Presented to the outstanding 4-H agricultural project member to recognize achievement in production agriculture as demonstrated by participation in crops, beef, dairy, swine, sheep, goats, poultry, or other projects that produce the food and fiber for the consumer market. Participation in more than one of the above projects is highly recommended. Will be selected based on “My Record of 4-H Achievement” cards. May be received only once.
MAGGIE ASHBY AWARD
Presented to an outstanding overall foods exhibitor (baked or preserved) who has consistently excelled in the foods project. The winner will be selected by members of the 4-H Foods Committee. This Award my only be received once.
SARAH JANE NORRIS TESTIMONIAL AWARD
Presented to the 4-Her with the outstanding overall 4H Home Environment record. Selected by 4H Awards Committee and based on “My Record of 4H Achievement” cards. May be received only once.

JOANNE HOUSE MEMORIAL FASHION REVUE AWARD
Presented to the Outstanding OverAll Junior Division Fashion Revue entry, as selected by the judges.
REICHART FAMILY SENIOR FASHION REVUE AWARD
Presented to the outstanding overall Senior Fashion Revue winner as selected by the judges on the day of judging.

NESBITT FAMILY SEWING CONSTRUCTION ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
Presented to one Junior (Grades 3-7) and one Senior (Grades 8 and above) 4-Her currently enrolled in the Sewing project for outstanding overall achievement, spanning multiple years of enrollment in sewing construction. These awards sponsored by the Nesbitt Family, which has had active participation in the sewing project since 1930, and in memory of Helen A. Nesbitt, a long time Consumer and Family Sciences Educator and 4-H leader. The awards are presented at the Tippecanoe County Public Fashion Revue. These awards may only be received once in each division.
NESBITT FAMILY WOODWORKING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
These awards will be presented to one Junior (Levels 1 & 2) and one Senior (Levels 3 & 4) 4-Her currently enrolled in the Woodworking project for outstanding overall achievement, spanning multiple years of enrollment in the project. These awards are sponsored by the Nesbitt Family which has had many generations of woodworkers and active participation in the Woodworking project since 1930. These awards may only be received once in each division.
SWINE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Presented to the 4H member with the most outstanding 4H swine record based on the white “My Record of 4-H Achievement” card. Eighth, ninth and tenth year members are eligible with preference given to the tenth year members. Selected by swine superintendent(s) and members of the swine committee.
TEN YEAR AWARD
All 4H members who have completed 10 years of 4-H in Tippecanoe County receive recognition from the 4H Exhibit Association.
WHITE FAMILY ELECTRIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
This award will be presented to one senior (Advanced divisions 5–10) 4-H member currently enrolled in the Electric project. This member must also complete the project by exhibiting at the county fair. The award is for outstanding overall Electric achievement. The award will be selected from a review of participation in the Electric projects, county and state workshops, etc. as recorded on the 4-H member’s white achievement card. This award is sponsored by the White Family who has had several generations of 4-H Electric members. These family members were influenced by their participation in this project to pursue a college education and career related to the 4-H Electric project.
Steve Ade Memorial Scholarship Award
The Steven Ade Memorial Scholarships were established in memory of Steven Ade, who served as President of the Tippecanoe County Exhibit Association and dedicated more than 30 years of volunteer service to the Tippecanoe County 4-H program. He was a devoted leader whose hard work and commitment greatly contributed to the success of the county fair and the 4-H community. There have been 2 scholarship dedicated to Steven’s lasting impact. The Steven Ade Memorial Scholarship is worth $1,000 and is sponsored by Luehrs Ideal Rides. Any 4-H Exhibitor in grades 9-12 are eligible. The Steven Ade Livestock Memorial Scholarship is worth $1,000 and is sponsored by Helena. Any 4-H Livestock Exhibitor in grades 9-12 are eligible.
The award recognizes 4-H members who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and service to others. Recipients are nominated by adult 4-H Volunteers who have observed them stepping up to assist without being asked, mentoring younger members, and showing a genuine commitment to the 4-H program
